What you see here is Beirut's suburb, a CIVILIAN area, a home for thousands of people. People just like you and me.
What happened you ask? A ruthless Israeli attack in the name of wiping out a supposed-terrorist organization. An attack that left a whole country in rubbles, killed more than 1200 civilians(mostly women and children) and displaced around a million. An attack that was accompanied by an international silence and the USA's vow for a new middle east ...
Thank you. We don't need your help. Just leave us alone. Let us be!

"YES, TAKE PICTURES! LET THEM SEE!" that's all i kept hearing from the locals. I really admire their strength, most of them have lost family members along with everything they owned, but they don't mourn, they don't falter. They repress their pain and loss, stand confident on their feet and look ahead.
Our precious Lebanon will overcome this and it will be even more beautiful than ever. proof? [link] by

that's so damn awful, this war thing(( my country went through the similar process in 1941-1945, and though it was a long time ago the wounds have not healed yet. It was easier to recognise the agressor back then, and what's now happening in your region- well, even the best politicians cannot really figure out the way out..I really sympathise with you and all the victims of this crazy conflict. May it all stabilize- the sooner the better. Hold on!
it's sad, and the lebanese will never be able to forget it, but they are strong. It's amazing how quickly the rebuilding is going. The gigs/concerts/pubs.. nightlife, it's all back. On november 17th there's a Ferry Corsten gig already!!!
It must be very hard for those who have lost family members.. i've got friends who have lost their houses along with everything else, but they try not to talk about it. They rented an apartment for now, went back to the "rubbles" during the first days of the "cease-fire" and tried to salvage whatever was left... it's tough, but the lebanese are tougher D
